The Philadelphia Women’s Theatre Festival is now seeking playwright submissions for a mini reading series this November!

 

Entitled WOMANHOOD: AN AMERICAN HORROR STORY, this series will showcase works that highlight the scary, the witchy, the eerie, the supernatural, or whatever horrors frighten you these days. While Halloween ends on October 31st, our reading will be in mid November, as the world's horrors don’t stop just because the spooky season is over.

We are seeking submissions of short plays (60 minutes or less) that have not yet been produced. Monologues are also being accepted. Plays should fit the theme, however you interpret it, and require no more than 5 actors. 

These will be presented as staged readings in a bar setting in mid November, 2025.
